[EV16-04] "Peering Into the Ocean, Seeing the Earth" - Explore with JAMSTEC! The Cutting Edge of Ocean and Earth Sciences: Marine Resources Utilization & Marine Geodynamics Day
16:00-17:00 | "Deciphering Earth's Ecosystem through Isotopes" Overview: Earth is a planet of ecosystems, formed through interconnections between life. Behind these connections lie hidden secrets that we aim to uncover using isotopes as a research tool.
17:00-18:00 | "Tackling Earthquake Research through Ocean Drilling (Case Study: JTRACK in the Japan Trench)" Overview: The 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake overturned many established ideas in seismology. We drill into the seafloor where earthquakes actually occurred, examining rock, physical properties, and chemical aspects to clarify the mechanisms behind seismic events. This session will introduce the latest findings in earthquake research alongside insights from ocean drilling sites.
