Since 2022, the Student Council of Ibaraki Prefectural Yuki First High School has been conducting topographical surveys of the area around the school.Yuki City has a complex network of plateaus and lowlands, so field surveys are necessary to accurately classify the topography of the area.
The survey of topographical divisions will be nearly completed in 2023, and the results will be compiled into a topographical division map. From 2024 onwards, the height of the plateau will be surveyed and flood forecast maps will be created.
Once the flood forecast map is complete, we will report the results to the city hall. The student council will then plan disaster prevention tours for local residents, which will contribute to disaster prevention in the local area.
We hope that the student council's topographical survey activities will contribute to the school's local community.
