Keywords:Ocean STEAM Education, Next Generation Marine Education, Exploratory Learning, Problem Solving Skills

The newly launched Ocean STEAM Promotion Project within the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC) will actively engage in ocean STEAM education and promote the prospects for the next generation of earth science education. In current educational system, ocean STEAM education, which integrates science, technology, engineering, liberal arts and mathematics, is attracting attention as an important approach to fostering student creativity and problem-solving skills. Through practical educational activities centred on marine geoscience, the programme aims to develop in students an interest in natural science and an attitude of self-directed learning.
