The impacts of sea level rise (SLR) due to climate change are projected to intensify globally. Consequently, selecting appropriate adaptation strategies for SLR has become a critical concern for coastal regions. This study assesses the potential damage of SLR in coastal areas by analysing inundated areas, affected populations, and economic losses. Additionally, it examines Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) as a complementary methodology to Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA) for evaluating the benefits of adaptation solutions at multiple scales. The study evaluates the effectiveness and efficiency of SLR adaptation in Vietnam at both national and provincial levels, focusing on concrete dikes and relocation strategies over temporal and spatial dimensions. The results indicate that the impact of SLR varies significantly across coastal provinces. The findings suggest that a combination of adaptation solutions optimizes the overall effectiveness of the adaptation process and enhances coastal resilience.
