[HQR05-P06] An attempt to connect the geology of the eastern part of the Yoro River in the south of Ichihara City, Chiba Prefecture with the 1:50,000 geological map of Anesaki
Keywords:Yoro River, Global Boundary Stratotype Section and Point, Chiba Section, Quantitative definition of stratigraphy
It has been 40 years since the regional geological research report geological map of Anesaki was published in 1984.However, as of 2024, no publication has been published for the neighboring Otaki region to the south. At the time of the author's graduation research in 1992 within the 1:25,000 Otaki region, several studies (Mitsunashi et al.,1959;Mitsunashi et al.,1962;Mitsunashi et al.,1979; Mitsunashi et al.,1980 et al) had been published. As mentioned above, although many studies about the Otaki region have been published,no detailed summary has yet been published. In my graduation research,I quantitatively defined single layers, alternating layers, and massive layers to clarify the stratigraphy of the study area,as well as clarifying the facies and distribution of previously undiscovered key layers, and have now attempted to connect them to the Anesaki area. The study area includes the Chiba section, which is a GSSP,and it appears that the deposition and distribution of indicator tephra has not been studied by anyone other than me.As this is beyond the scope of what an individual can do,I hope that a public institution will promptly and thoroughly investigate and study this area.
