Keywords:Net-Zero Green Life, Net zero emissions, International exchange, Environmental Education

The United Nations has proposed the "2050 Net-Zero Emissions" declaration and actions. Taiwan has also followed international footsteps, proposing policies and actions toward the goal of net-zero emissions. Among these, net-zero green living is an important strategy for leading the public to create a green lifestyle. In order to learn from the experiences of various countries and establish cooperative mechanisms, we hope to achieve Taiwan's net-zero emissions goal faster through exchange activities such as visits and conferences.
International exchanges are focused on the United States and Germany. First, we visited relevant institutions and schools in New Jersey, the most forward-looking state in the United States in promoting net-zero emissions. We visited diverse organizations and individuals, including a state government agency and a mayor, a task force representing the state government, a university, a superintendent of an independent school district, three schools (including two elementary schools and one junior high school), and the co-chair of the White House Environmental Justice Advisory Council. During this time, we exchanged views on policies and action plans on climate change education, net-zero transition, sustainable development education, and human rights. We also observed school courses and teaching practices on-site. At the same time, through dialogue, we effectively promoted Taiwan's determination to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 and the results of our country's many years of dedication to environmental protection and education. The above-mentioned relevant organizations and individuals also look forward to establishing a substantial mutually beneficial cooperative partnership with Taiwan. It is expected that future cooperation can develop youth leadership training, create a sharing platform for local governance, and build a Taiwan-US environmental education business chain. In addition, we held seminars for German experts and scholars to come to Taiwan for exchanges to understand the actual guidelines for promoting net-zero green living internationally, providing a reference for future actions. The theme of the exchange was net-zero life transformation - enhancing individual behavioral change, including improving the public's green living literacy and the practice of life transformation, encouraging the circular and sharing economy, and the goals and strategies of net-zero life transformation.
Through these international exchange experiences, we can learn from the diverse participation of international citizens, construct a framework for life transformation, and further refer to the practical actions of the United States in net-zero life transformation, and the German government's experience in promoting net-zero transition policies and cross-ministerial cooperation. We can learn and try systematic strategies, technologies, and practices suitable for Taiwan and continue international exchanges and cooperation.
