Keywords:resilient natural environment measurement, time synchronization, visualization

We introduce our efforts so far regarding “Resilient Natural Environment Measurement Project”, which could be a novel technique to monitor natural areas using new ICT (information and communications technologies). One of the concepts in the project is to monitor via “eye” (visual IoT) and “ear” (infrasound) in association with “hands” (legacy IoT sensors). We present a basic concept of the Resilient Natural Environment Measurement Project addressing examples to measure a variety of targets.
In this study, we use the STARS synchronization function (STARScontroller) to solve this problem and realize time synchronization of multiple visualization tools. This enables time synchronization of time-dependent data visualization (graphing) tools such as graph tools, movie display tools, and dynamic spectrum display tools. In our talk, examples of the STARS synchronization in volcano observation and coastal wave height observation will be introduced.
Note that STARScontroller is published as a BSD2 license available for commercial uses in the Github repository shown in the figure.
