The new generation GEO satellites, such as Himawari 8-9/AHI, GOES-R/ABI and MTG/FCI, acquiring data of full Earth disk every 10 minutes with 16 different spectral channels from visible to thermal infrared, can contribute for a more precise monitoring of the atmosphere, land and oceans. In particular, these satellite sensors can play also a significant role in the field of natural and environmental risks monitoring, such as seismic and volcanic ones. In this work, we will present and discuss the results achieved by adopting Robust Satellite Techniques for recognizing and identifying anomalous variations of Earth thermally emitted radiation at time of selected earthquakes.
