Karst landscapes are extensively distributed across the northern provinces of Vietnam, where various geomorphological processes shape the landforms. The karst landforms in the two UNESCO Global Geoparks (Dong Van and Cao Bang) exhibit a combination of cone or tower karst and cockpit dolines, formed through the weathering and erosion of Paleozoic and Mesozoic limestone. Their steep slopes and cliffs indicate rapid decomposition, accelerated by high precipitation and active uplift. Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba Archipelago, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site, is distinguished by submerged tower and cone karst formations, shaped by post-glacial sea level changes. Trang An Landscape Complex, a UNESCO World Mixed Heritage Site, features karst landscapes influenced by post-glacial uplift. These landscapes provide an ideal setting for geotourism, allowing visitors to explore weathering, erosion, uplift, and relative sea level changes from the LGM (Last Glacial Maximum) to the Postglacial age. This study proposes a one-week geotourism program covering two UNESCO Global Geoparks and two UNESCO World Heritage Sites in northern Vietnam.
