[MZZ41-01] Simulation hypothesis from the fine-tuning argument
Keywords:simulation hypothesis, fine-tuning, posthuman, philosophy of science
The simulation hypothesis, made famous by an Oxford philosopher Nick Bostrom through his 2003 paper, posited that if post-human intelligent beings ran a vast number of simulations of cosmic worlds, it is extremely likely that our world would be just one of such simulations. Although this just remains a possibility, there are other arguments trying to justify the simulation hypothesis by fine-tuning of the universe. In this presentation, I would like to discuss whether fine-tuning can provide collateral evidence for the simulation hypothesis.
