The Okunoto Vista Road is designated along the coastline of Suzu City at the tip of the Noto Peninsula. This route encompasses both Sotoura (Outer Bay), characterized by its majestic cliffs facing the Sea of Japan, and Uchiura (Inner Bay), known for its calm waves along Toyama Bay. The geological formations and accompanying topographical diversity, integral to the Noto Peninsula's formation, have significantly influenced the region's lifestyle and culture.
This presentation elucidates the geomorphological and geological characteristics of Sotoura and Uchiura, examining their relationships with landscape, natural, historical, and cultural resources, as well as local industries such as fishing.Additionally, it summarizes the impact of the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake on these regional resources.
