[O11-P55] Structural Analysis of Miocene Outcrops in Mt.Kurikoma Area Geopark
-Elucidation of the formation mechanism of debris in tuff-
Keywords:Mt.Kurikoma Area Geopark, pyroclastic flow, submarine volcanoes
In the Mt.Kurikoma Area Geopark, located in Kurihara City, Miyagi Prefecture, the detailed distribution and formation of outcrops deposited during the Miocene are still unknown. This study aims to elucidate the formation mechanism of such outcrops through structural analysis. This study was conducted at the outcrops downstream of Gyoja Falls in the Kurikoma Foothills Geopark area. The survey consisted of the preparation and observation of rock flakes, chemical analysis of the samples, measurement of gravel diameter, and shape classification.Based on these results, it is considered that this outcrop was formed by pyroclastic flow, and that a conglomerate-like structure was formed inside the outcrop by the accompanying flow deformation.Based on the results of this analysis, we would like to enhance the value of this outcrop as a geosite in the Mt.Kurikoma Area Geopark.
