[PAE18-12] A New Approach to Planetary Microlensing Light Curve Analysis: Addressing Time-Correlated Noise with Gaussian Processes
Keywords:Exoplanet, Gravitational Microlensing, Gaussian Process
Microlensing light curves often contain time-correlated noise due to intrinsic source variability, instrumental systematics, or other factors. In MOA-2021-BLG-333, correlated noise was also observed, likely due to the variability of the source star. In such cases, conventional analysis methods that treat each data point independently can lead to incorrect estimates of parameter values and their uncertainties.
To address this, we have developed a code that applies the Gaussian processes, allowing us to account for time-correlated noise in the light curve analysis.
In this talk, I will present an evaluation of the performance of our new method using simulated artificial light curves and apply it to MOA-2021-BLG-333.
