★Invited Papers
キーワード:Space Weather, Solar Terrestrial Environment, Operations
The U.S. National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has a significant role in the U.S. space weather enterprise. Included is the mandate to (1) provide operational space weather monitoring, forecasting, and long-term data archiving and access for civil applications, (2) maintain ground-based and space-based assets to provide observations needed for space weather forecasting, prediction, and warnings, (3) provide research to support operational responsibilities, and (4) develop requirements for space weather forecasting technologies and science. NOAA has an established Office of Space Weather Observations (SWO), a Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC), and a data/archival team in the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) to address these responsibilities. This talk will describe the overall NOAA space weather activities and international coordination for space weather operations and research.
