[PEM10-02] Status of ICAO space weather information services

Severe space weather phenomena give significant impact on social infrastructure, e.g., satellite positioning, telecommunications, satellite operations. Especially operation of aircraft is one of the biggest fields affected by space weather conditions. To avoid these impacts, ICAO has started to provide space weather information through ICAO global space weather center since 2019. Now it is time to evaluate the information after more than five years of operation.
We have had continuous discussions in space weather center coordination group (SWXCCG) under ICAO/Meteorology Operation Group (MOG). There are several numbers of sub-teams under SWXCCG for discussing specific topics among scientists and information users. One of the big issues to be discussed is to evaluate the threshold of advisories.
In this talk we will provide current condition and Japanese contribution in these discussions.
