Keywords:the Sporadic E Layer (Es Layer), Sudden Stratospheric Warming(SSW)

One of the ionospheric phenomena is the Sporadic E Layer (Es Layer), which is a special type of ionosphere that occurs locally and unexpectedly around 100 km above the Earth. Andoh et al., 2024 found a relationship between SSW and winter Es-layer strengthening in 2009. In this study, we will statistically analyze the variations in the Es layer associated with the weakening of the stratospheric polar vortex related to SSW and its opposite strengthening of the polar vortex using ionosonde observations to examine the relationship between the two.
