[PEM12-P34] Analysis of Earthquake-Induced Ionospheric Plasma Disturbances: A Case Study of the 2024 Hualien Earthquake, Taiwan
キーワード:花蓮地震、FORMOSAT-7/COSMIC-2衛星、GNSS全電子数、地震電離層現象
This study analyzes ionospheric disturbances triggered by the 2024 Hualien earthquake in Taiwan. By integrating Total Electron Content (TEC) observations from ground-based Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) networks with radio occultation data from the FORMOSAT-7/COSMIC-2 satellite, this research provides new insights into seismo-ionospheric phenomena. A key finding is the first-time observation in Taiwan of a concentric circular disturbance structure in the ionosphere following an earthquake, which is similar to the disturbances observed after the 2011 Tohoku earthquake in Japan. Furthermore, the study calculated the propagation speeds of the disturbance waves, suggesting that their propagation characteristics may be influenced by geomagnetic effects. The results of this study contribute to a better understanding of the coupling mechanisms between earthquakes and the ionosphere.
