Understanding of response of the Earth's magnetosphere to solar wind, is crucial for planetary and space science, as well as astrophysics and space weather. We are developing a small satellite GEO-X (GEOspace X-ray imager) aiming global imaging of the Earth's magnetosphere in X-rays. In this paper, we present development status of spacecraft and payload using cutting edge technologies and expected science results.
