[SVC31-P01] Progress of Time-lapse Seismic Volcano Monitoring during past 5 years and what is next

A project, Time-lapse Seismic Volcano Monitoring (TSVM) is a controlled seismological method for detection and monitoring of subsurface volcano activity. DPRI, Kyoto University have been working on investigations toward establishment of the method in Aira Caldera since FY2019. Research and some experiment are included in this period. The research on source devices and its capacity and on subsurface seismic reflector in depth beneath Aira Caldera on FY2019. A seismic experiment with a controlled source device and with newly installed seismic stations in 2020 on the basis of the report in the previous year. The seismic experiment was performed in 2022 in the same and selected source specification as a investigation result of FY2020's experiment. An airgun-pit experiment was made in FY2023 in order to getting stable source condition during repeating experiment rounds.
Stable and reproductive generation of source waveform and dependence of radiated energy and waveform on source condition were obtained through the experiments. Some constraints about its size and the structure became clear through the airgun-pit experiment.
These results and achievements are summarized and a next plan will be presented through the poster to be exhibited. The study is supported by NRA, Japan, as a commissioned research in FY2019-FY2024.
