AGU's Open Science Leadership team, in collaboration with Danie Kinkade, Natalie Raia, Lesley Wyborn, and a broad network of communities, is working to convene, engage, and co-develop a critically-needed, low-tech, and sustainable framework for community specific data sharing practices for the geoscience disciplines. The goal is to empower researchers to be knowledgeable of, connected to, and adopt use of, their community’s existing cyberinfrastructure resources, technologies and leading practices; proactive in effectively and efficiently managing and sharing FAIR research outputs. The intent is that through this effort, data and other digital objects will be of higher quality, interoperable, and shared through community-preferred disciplinary repositories, accessible for immediate reuse in data-driven research, including AI/ML applications.
