Asia Oceania Geosciences Society (AOGS) held its first annual meeting (Singapore) in 2004. The society, head-quartered in Singapore, aims to promote geosciences in Asia Oceania and the world. A major portion (almost three quarters) of conference attendance is from Mainland China, South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan (2023 Singapore). Except Singapore (~5 %), attendance from ASEAN countries is small in spite of their potentials. Under-representation of ASEAN countries may be due to multiple reasons, including financials, language barrier, etc. To challenge this problem, AOGS held satellite meetings via collaboration with European Geoscience Union (EGU) on a theme of "Natural Hazards". Another initiative is establishing the Regional Advisory Committee (RAC), which organizes online seminar series to convey the front-line geoscience to the audience over the network. Although such attempts have been conducted all in English but recent technology would enable the true multilingual communications to share the scientific results. Current issues and future prospects will be discussed.
