[A-CC43] Ice cores and paleoenvironmental modeling

Wed. May 27, 2026 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM 104 (International Conference Hall, Makuhari Messe)

Chairperson:Kawamura Kenji(National Institute of Polar Research, Research Organization of Information and Systems), Takeuchi Nozomu(Chiba University), SAITO Fuyuki(Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology)

Analyses of ice cores from polar and high mountain regions have greatly contributed to reconstructing and understanding past environmental and climatic changes over timescales ranging from years to several hundred thousand years. In this session, we welcome studies on paleoenvironmental reconstructions based on ice cores, as well as paleoclimatic modeling that enhances our understanding of past climate variability. We also encourage submissions on reconstruction methods, signal recording processes, development of new paleoenvironmental proxies, and technical advances in paleoclimate modeling. Furthermore, studies using other natural archives such as marine and terrestrial sediment cores, speleothems, and tree rings are highly welcomed, especially those that address past environmental changes from integrative perspectives.
