[H-CG25] Earth surface processes related to deposition, erosion and sediment transport

Wed. May 27, 2026 5:15 PM - 7:00 PM Poster Hall (Exhibition Hall 7&8, Makuhari Messe)

Transportation and sedimentation of earth-surface materials - the latest results of multiple research fields, including engineering and earth sciences- are essential to understanding landscape evolution and erosion dynamics. Any research on sedimentology and sedimentary petrology, the interaction between fluid, sediments, and geomorphology, is focused in this session. Interdisciplinary discussions of science, disaster prevention, resource exploration, and marine geo-hazards, such as submarine slide, washout and seabed liquefaction of pipeline and optical cable buried sediments, are also welcome to this session.
This session will be conducted in both Japanese and English to encourage presentations and active discussions by students and others whose native language is Japanese. Presentations may be given in either English or Japanese, and presentation slides and posters should be prepared in English or in both Japanese and English. Non-Japanese-speaking participants and presentations in English are also welcome. Although this session is categorized as Japanese and English session, it is coordinated with the IUGS-affiliated task group (TGSG) session titled "Submarine geohazards and their their application", which has been proposed as an English-language session.
