[M-IS25] Developments and applications of non-destructive measurement techniques in natural archives

Sun. May 24, 2026 5:15 PM - 7:00 PM Poster Hall (Exhibition Hall 7&8, Makuhari Messe)

Non-destructive analyses (i.e., physical properties, X-ray CT, XRF core scanning) are indispensable for both basic and advanced research on core sediment and rock samples. These techniques provide fast measurements and high-resolution (micro to sub-mm scale) data, which enables us to discuss natural archives based on massive data sets. For example, element proxy-based paleo-research has been transformed by XRF core scanning techniques over the last decade. However, as data sizes increase, researchers encounters challenges to develop analyses strategies and data integration techniques for that maximize their usefulness. It is therefore considered timely to bring together international specialists using high-resolution data set obtained from various non-destructive analyses in all fields of science to present new research, to stimulate new collaborations and discussions, as well as to propose new technological developments.
We would like to invite all researchers from a variety of specialties, who are interested in non-destructive analyses tools.
