Quantitative chronological information provided by dating methods is critical for understanding geological and cosmological processes. Owing to the recent innovations in mass spectrometry, both the quality and quantity of chronological data, particularly zircon U-Pb ages, have dramatically improved. As the zircon U-Pb dating method is now routinely applied across various regions and geological periods, to interpret age data carefully from geological, petrological, geochemical, and geophysical perspectives has become increasingly important. However, it should also be recognized that the zircon U-Pb system records only a limited range of geological processes. To elucidate the mechanisms of geological and cosmological phenomena that are not recorded in the zircon U-Pb system, the development of new dating methods and their applications to natural samples remain crucial. These efforts require the integration of multiple geo- and thermochronological systems, and the expansion of datable minerals beyond zircon, including apatite, garnet, monazite, ilmenite, and magnetite. This session proposes the concept of Hybrid Geochronology, which integrates insights derived from diverse dating methods and multidisciplinary approaches. We welcome contributions addressing all aspects of geochronology.
