[H-GG01] [EE] Mapping phenology with long-term continuous remote sensing observations

Mon. May 22, 2017 5:15 PM - 6:30 PM Poster Hall (International Exhibition Hall HALL7)

Long-term continuous observations from remote sensing allow monitoring phenology at local to global scales. Phenology indicators such as seasonal timings of vegetation activities represent vegetation dynamics in terrestrial environments and these changes are associated with climate and land cover changes as well as anthropogenic disturbances. Satellite-derived phenological indicators are useful for monitoring environments spatially as a proxy of ground-based phenological ones.

This session explores the potential of satellite-derived phenology and its applications to understand terrestrial environments and prompts discussions amongst disciplines from environmental geography to Geoinformation.
