[S-RD39] [JJ] Resource geology

Thu. May 25, 2017 3:30 PM - 4:45 PM Poster Hall (International Exhibition Hall HALL7)

Ore deposits consisting of supracrustal concentrated valuable elements and minerals are results of the Earth's dynamics, including magmatism, hydrothermal activity, metamorphism, and weathering process. The formation of ore deposits is also closely associated with global environmental changes and biological evolution in the Earth's history. Therefore, involvement of various academic fields in Earth science, such as geology, petrology, geochemistry, mineralogy, and microbiology, is required to elucidate the genesis of ore deposits. The field of resource geology is essential not only for efficient exploration and development of ore deposits but also for better understanding and assessment of environmental problems that may be caused by the development of mineral resources. This session covers topics that are related to supracrustal migration and concentration of elements by various aspects and methodologies, such as field investigation and observation, analytical development, laboratory experiment, and theoretical calculation.
