[S-SS08] [EE] Earthquake Modeling and Simulation
Mon. May 22, 2017 5:15 PM - 6:30 PM Poster Hall (International Exhibition Hall HALL7)
Recent progress on the quality of seismic observations as well as the qualified data processing and advanced simulation technique of earthquakes has been significantly improving our understanding of earthquakes. Especially, several recent significant earthquakes such as the 2016 Kumamoto earthquakes cast a new focus on earthquake modeling and simulations. In this session we welcome contributions on earthquake data analysis, earthquake source modeling, and predictive simulations toward the mitigation of earthquake disasters. We also welcome fundamental research on the earthquake modeling in lab experiments and geological field observations.
