[H-CG33] [JJ] Design basis ground motion for nuclear power plants: Viewpoints of science and engineering
Sun. May 21, 2017 1:45 PM - 3:15 PM Poster Hall (International Exhibition Hall HALL7)
convener:Daisuke Suetsugu(Department of Deep Earth Structure and Dynamics Research, Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology), Manabu Hashimoto(Disaster Prevention Research Institute, Kyoto University), Takeshi Sagiya(Disaster Mitigation Research Center, Nagoya University), Kohta Juraku(Department of Humanities, Social and Health Sciences, School of Science and Technology for Future Life, Tokyo Denki University)
We have organized sessions in the JPGU meeting on nuclear power plants in Japan from a viewpoint of earthquake science since 2013. Topics in the sessions include risks of nuclear power plants by earthquakes, volcanic activities, and tsunamis; a communication gap between scientists and engineers on the risks of the nuclear power plants. We propose the session to promote discussion on the risks between scientists and engineers with a focus on the basis design ground motion: How we should construct the design ground motion and how we should use the design ground motion. We are welcome to papers of other topics relevant to relationship of earthquake science and nuclear power plants.
