The world global environmental studies are being re-organized in the framework of Future Earth, which is considered to be a powerful driver to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by UN in 2015. Geoscience, which specializes in the dynamic nature and phenomena of the Earth, including lithosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere, biosphere and even human-geosphere, assumes unique roles in Future Earth, and to realization of SDGs. The session is intended to discuss the crucial issues related with them, particularly in reference to such SDGs as good health and well-being, quality education, clean water and sanitation, sustainable cities and communities, climate action, life below water and life on land. Those interested in Future Earth and SDGs, particularly those who have already started or are about to start related projects, or are interested in Future Earth Knowledge-Action Networks (KANs), such as Ocean, Food-Water-Energy Nexus, Health, Disasters, Cities, Natural Assets, will find this Session an ideal place to present his/her research results, to exchange information and ideas, and to seek new collaborative relations with other research groups and even with partners in the society.
