[S-EM20] [JJ] Geomagnetism, Paleomagneteism and Rock Magnetism

Sat. May 20, 2017 10:45 AM - 12:15 PM A03 (Tokyo Bay Makuhari Hall)

convener:Yusuke Suganuma(National institute of Polar Research), Yuhji Yamamoto(Center for Advanced Marine Core Research, Kochi University), Tadahiro Hatakeyama(Information Processing Center, Okayama University of Science), Chairperson:Yusuke Suganuma(National institute of Polar Research)

In this session we will privide a space of discussing the issues of Earth and planetary magnetic field, paleomagneism, rock and environmental magnetism, and their applications. Especially the focus of this session is on (1) the origin and flucutuations of the Earth and Planetary magnetic fields investigated with dynamo simulation and paleomagnetism, (2) measurements and theories of magnetic properties of minerals, rocks, meteorites and other materials, (3) climate changes and global and local surface tectonics based on the paleomagnetic measurements of rocks and sediments, (4) observations of the magnetic anomalies and the magnetized crust models on the surface of the Earth, other planets and satellites, and (5) developments of the measurement and analysis technologies for the geomag, paleomag and rock magnetism. We also welcome studies on Japanese and Far-East paleomagneitsm, tectonics, archaeomagnetism and so on. In this session the presentation and discussion will be done in Japanese, but we hope that the presenters will describe texts and figure captions in English.
