[S-GL33] [EE] Geodynamics of convergent margins: theoretical, laboratory and natural examples

Tue. May 23, 2017 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM 104 (International Conference Hall 1F)

convener:Simon Wallis(Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Nagoya University), Hiroshi Mori(Shinshu University), Takayoshi Nagaya(Graduate School of Environmental Studies, Tohoku University), Tomoyuki Mizukami(Earth Science Course, School of Natural System, College of Science and Engineering, Kanazawa University), Chairperson:Tomoyuki Mizukami(Earth Science Course, School of Natural System, College of Science and Engineering, Kanazawa University), Chairperson:Hiroshi Mori(Shinshu University)

We welcome studies that focus on the deformation, fluid flow, and dynamics of convergent

margins using theoretical, laboratory or field-based studies. The focus is on processes that occur in the crust and lithospheric mantle both in subduction zones and collisional belts. We welcome presentations using a wide variety of approaches and hope that this session will stimulate discussion between experts from different backgrounds and help develop a better understanding of these important lithospheric domains.
