Publishing scientific papers is a major task for researchers. Publications in peer-reviewed international journals are especially important. For such publications, it is necessary not only to conduct high-quality research, but also to obtain the writing skills to communicate the outcomes effectively. I have been a co-editor-in-chief of an international journal (Geomorphology) since 2003 and have handled more than 2000 submitted papers. Based on my experience, I would like to provide some guidance for young researchers in writing manuscripts suitable for international journals.
