The information design helps us to convey information and idea to audiences accurately and effectively. However, we scientists have little opportunities to learn the necessary skills and knowledge for information design. We here introduce the essential principles of information design and tips to improve our presentation with slides and posters written in either Japanese or English. In our talk, we are especially focusing on the principles of typography consists of selecting a typeface, choosing weight and size of the font, and the principles of paragraph writing including settings of a typographic hierarchy, line length, line height and letter spacing.
