[2F17] [Invited] Optimization of fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) units utilizing artificial intelligence technology and engineering expertise

FCC AI OptimizerTW (FCCAIOTW), which learns relation between operational data of Fluidized Catalytic Cracking (FCC) and status of FCC converter by combining machine learning with engineering expertise, allows real-time predictions of status of FCC converter and after-burn occurrence in regenerator, which were challenging issues in conventional operation due to complexities of relevant phenomena such as the cracking reaction, the catalyst deactivation and the coke burning. In this presentation, technical aspect of FCCAIOTW and its expected effects, and future prospects for operation optimization, automation and autonomy of FCC unit will be presented.
