[1L5-GS-5-02] Issue Analysis of Election using News Browsing Behavior
Keywords:User Behavior Modeling, User Engagement, Online News
It has been pointed out that issues play an important role in the decision-making of voters in elections, but that there is a gap with the interests of voters. Previous studies that explored voters' interests used opinions expressed explicitly through questionnaires or SNS by voters and may not accurately reflect their interests. In this study, in order to clarify the users' interests from the viewpoint of the issues in the election, we analyze the issues of a election using the browsing behavior of users in a news curation service. The analysis results suggested that there was a difference in the manner of gathering interest in issue and non-issue articles, a difference in the distribution of interest between the media and users, and that the ranking of issues could be partially expressed based on user browsing behavior.
