[3C1-OS-23a-04] Design and Practice of “Damaged Photo Cleaning Lab”
Keywords:Damaged Photos, Fieldwork, Collaboration Practice, Sharing Experiences, Clinical Thinking
This paper begins to reflect upon the first author’s research on returning the results of field research to the community members, from the viewpoint of “clinical knowledge.” This practice is an attempt to design a place, a “Damaged Photo Cleaning Lab,” where people can experience the cleansing work in damaged photo relief activities. Diverse narratives were created by the participants after the workshop, based on their experiences of photo cleansing. We suggest that the “Lab” created an intimate place for sharing the personal experiences of the participants. Also, we gained new perspectives, which led to the re-evaluation of the research itself. In this paper, we look back on the practice of the “Damaged Photo Cleaning Lab” and examine the role of the laboratory work derived from the clinical sites.
