[3Rin4-10] Construction of emotional representation model in the process of recovery from withdrawal due to disability
Consideration of occupational therapy using Minsky Theory
Keywords:occupational therapy, disability, emotional representation model, withdrawal
It is not easy for a person to maintain the same life style as before the illness and return to social activities when some kind of accident occurs in mental and physical condition and serious aftereffects remain. In this case, a patient who developed cerebrovascular disorder in his 40s and had severe right hemiplegia and aphasia remained, rejected his rerlationship with society after discharge and presented a state of withdrawal for a long time. Therefore, an occupational therapist surported his rehabilititation. This case was unable to move as expected due to motor paralysis and confronted with the conflict that his life could not be made up without the care of his mother. He had the frustration that thoughts could not be conveyed to others due to the effects of aphasia and was suffering. M.Minsky's Six-Level Model shows that the high hierarchy of value feelings and ethics is intertwined from the low hierarchy of instinct and motivation, and that the thoughts and behaviors of people are determined. We constructed a model that can express the change of emotion based on Minsky Theory from the viewpoint of occupational therapy in the recovery process. Changes in the relationship with his mother, improvement in his self-reliance, and gaining pleasure were become triggers to move his mind, therefore the constructed model showed that the effect of intervention by occupationao therapy was useful.
