Keywords:Ontology, Discussion support robot

In the current elementary school education, it is more required than ever that the students learn subjectively while maintaining the interests of them, and various efforts are being done in school. Conventionally, the small human robot Sota supported elementary school students discussions using a system that integrate Ontology-based functions (supplementing discussions, answering questions, providing hints) and measurement-based functions (time and remarks count management). As a result, Sota's remarks based on the students' comments during the discussion, such as supplementing discussions and management of the number of remarks, remained in the students' impressions. With this background in mind, we will proceed with segmentation of the ontology and consider how students and robots can interact at more appropriate timing. As a case study, we evaluated the effect of small robot Sota participating in group discussions for elementary school students.
