[4K2-GS-3-02] Analysis of trends duration time

Predicting trends and making use of them are considerably valuable for marketing. But, today, trends are changing too rapidly to catch up because there are a lot of information and users’ preferences become more diverse. In this paper, we measure duration time of these trends using big data and try to analyze them quantitively. This time, we focus on analyzing trends of celebrities as a example of trends. As a result, we found most of trends diminished within a month which provided the evidence that trends are changing rapidly. In addition, survival analysis show that survival ratio of trends differed among groups of celebrities (actress, musician, comedian, and etc…) and “musician group” had a longest survival time among five groups.
