[4Rin1-04] Investigation of Effects of Synchronous Movement on Impressions of Virtual Agent
Keywords:Human-Agent Interaction , synchronous movement
This study has developed the discussions of effects of synchronous movement from human-human interaction to human-agent interaction. We investigated how synchronous movement with a virtual agent through the rhythm of metronome influenced impressions and behaviors toward the agent in a situation of rehabilitation. The results indicated that university students in the synchronous condition, which the agent simultaneously repeated stand-up and sit-down, liked the agent significantly more than those in the non-synchronous condition, which it did at different timing. Moreover, in the synchronous condition, they recommended the agent to others in a situation of rehabilitation and hoped to use it in other exercise tasks significantly more. We would not only report these results but also explain some future works based on the considerations.
