[4Rin1-79] Development of a Decoder for Two-dimensional Barcodes Including Complicated Geometric Distortion
Keywords:two-dimenaional barcodes, geometric distortion, combinatorial optimization
Two-dimensional (2D) codes are used in a wide range of fields such as production, distribution, and sales because they can store more information than conventional one-dimensional codes. However, when the two-dimensional code is distorted unevenly and complicatedly, it becomes difficult to decode the code. In the previous studies, some 2D codes that include auxiliary patterns inside the code have proposed for robust decoding against non-uniform geometric distortion; however, it is difficult for the methods to decode general 2D codes without any auxiliary patterns. Therefore, this study proposes a method that decodes a complicatedly distorted general 2D code without an auxiliary pattern. The proposed method corrects the geometric distortion by estimating edge positions of modules in the 2D code.
