[2C1-GS-6-04] Prototype of the Discussion Search Mechanism Based on Automatic Discussion Structure Extraction

Discussions are important in solving common issues and building consensus. With the spread of social media, including online discussion platforms, the number and diversity of opinions in discussions has increased, making it more difficult to automatically retrieve discussions. In this paper, we propose a new approach to discussion search, which consists of an indexing process and a retrieving process, following the basic process of search engines. In our proposed method, we use the discussion model (discussion structure) to properly handle the complexity of the discussions. The experimental results show that our method is effective in retrieving similar discussions. In addition, we are working on the implementation of a discussion search mechanism based on automatic discussion structure extraction on the online discussion platform, and introduce a prototype.
