[2J5-OS-24a-04] (OS invited talk) AI Ethics: The Next Big Challenges
[[Online]]
Keywords:AI Ethics, responsible AI
A recent survey in Germany has found that people increasingly would like to see AI deployed in a variety of application fields. While this is most probably due to the multiple opportunities AI can offer, serious, especially ethical, issues arise with its use. To address and manage the risks arising from these ethical concerns, researchers develop recommendations, such as the Ethics Guidelines for Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence by the European Commission, or the Ethical Framework for a Good AI Society by the AI4People Committee. However, such frameworks tend to be broad and, hence, first need to be adapted to the specific application context. One of the next big challenges for research on AI and, in particular, its responsible use will therefore be how to effectively develop concrete and applicable recommendations that can be directly used and implemented in AI systems.
