[3L4-GS-8-01] Development of a new indoor CO2 monitoring system with integrated fixed and autonomous mobile sensors
Keywords:autonomous mobile robot, air quality, robotic sensing
The role of environmental information in promoting behavioral change such as avoiding the "Three Cs" is becoming more important. However, methods of collecting environmental information, encouraging people to take appropriate action and evaluating the resultant actions have not been fully established. In this study, we first develop a method to collect environmental information in the office using fixed sensors and mobile sensors on the robot, and to integrate all information on the cloud. Second, we propose an approach of moving the robot to locations where detailed measurements are needed. Third, a method of promoting people to take action using the integrated information and the robot's communication function is proposed. This paper shows a prototype system implemented based on the above three methods. The prototype system showed that it is possible to measure CO2 concentration on demand, even in places where sensors are not installed, and to encourage appropriate behavior.
