[3O4-GS-5-03] Relationship between work style characteristics and performance extracted from location information data in the office
Keywords:Employee Performance, Location Data, Sparse Principal Component Analysis
In recent years, Remote work has become a hot topic due to the influence of covid-19. Under these circumstances, companies such as Facebook and Twitter recognize the usefulness of remote work, while some companies also recognize the need for office work. Thus, the way of working in the office and the variety of working styles are being questioned again. In this research, we extract features of work styles from the location information data in the office, and we explore the relationship between features of office work and work performance. As a result, from the location information data point of view, face-to-face communication with other employees is active on the general office floor, and in particular, employees who have a stronger network with key persons in other departments have higher performance. Furthermore, communication that occurs in a quick-meeting area affects employee performance more than that occurring in planned meetings held in conference rooms.
