[3Yin2-42] Similarity search of earthquakes based on a UMAP embedded map

It is important for both academia and disaster mitigation to understand immediately after a large earthquake whether there have been earthquakes similar to the one that occurred. In this study, we newly developed the similarity search of earthquakes based on the feature map where past earthquakes are embedded by UMAP. This study demonstrated that in the case of target events where similar earthquakes had occurred in the past, this new approach can detect the similar past events. Even in the case of target earthquakes where there were no similar past events, the search results are expected to be used as information for the rarity of the target earthquakes.
