The purpose of this study is to develop a system that can assist beginners in playing Shogi while enjoying the game. We propose an assistant that provides the user with candidate good move suggestions. To evaluate the proposed method, we conducted an experiment in which users were asked to try the proposed method and responded to a questionnaire about their evaluation of the assistance. The user was given no assistance, assistance with the top five pieces to move, and assistance with two random pieces from the top five to move. The experimental results suggest that Shogi may be more enjoyable and interesting for beginners compared to playing Shogi without assistance.
