[4K3-GS-1-04] Discussions on Idea Creation System in Practice
Toward AI rooted in Bodily Experience and First-Person's View
Keywords:knowledge in practice, bodily experience, first person's view, idea creation, dynamic cognitive process
This paper presents discussions on ways in which the act of idea creation and imaginary association could be implemented as an AI system. The tenet of the discussions lies in the question of how imaginary association occurs freely beyond the domains of the current thoughts and actions. We argue that perception is dynamically formed through interactions between Damasio’s notion of “dispositional representation” in memory and sensory input signals from own body and the environments, and further that dispositional representation is hypothesized to consist of not only the representations of the target object perceived but also perceptual variables in the background situation, and the patterns of feeling and constructive management of bodily energy budget which Barrett has proposed. If based on those arguments, the notion of flying beyond “frame of reference” may be unnecessary in conjecturing the mechanism of imaginary association. This may provide significant implications for solving so-called “frame-problem”.
