Auscultation is an elementary and traditional method of screening for heart disease without innovative changes from 200 years ago when it had been invented in france. We AMI Inc. are developing Super-StethoScope and its telemedicine system to achieve digital transformation of auscultation. Our aiming digital transformation which we call “Auscultation-DX” is not only limited to digitizing heart sounds, but also includes utilization of them to clinical, research, and educational situations toward providing additional values to medicine. Although development of digital stethoscope can be pointed out as an existing trial of Auscultation-DX, in the usage over telemedicine, the obtained information should be harmed in three situations; sound acquisition, real-time streaming through the network, and emission of the received sound data. To minimize the information loss relevant to cardiovascular diseases, and to acquire information from multiple physiologic aspects, we developed Super-StethoScope with wideband phonocardiogram and simultaneous electrocardiogram sensing capability. In this invited talk, the achieved pathway of Super StethoScope obtaining regulatory clearance from PMDA is introduced, and the future perspective for development of diagnostic AI as a Software as Medical Device would be mentioned.
